It would appear that I must review the inauguration enables of Michelle Obama.

I have had, in the past, mixed feeling regarding Mrs. O's fashion choices. I felt them to be interesting but also hesitant and safe. The like a flash of lightning it hit me: She is not a movie star she is a first lady. As a political figure Michelle Obama has an obligation to present herself in a way that is above reproach and beyond innuendo. Therefore her style must be measured by a different scale or possible reviewed on two scales.

Applause for the stylish green gloves. The dress color though pleasant seemed overwhelming in this layered style. I would have also loved to see the hymn line and inch to an inch and a half shorter.

I love this dress however I do feel that the strap is too thick for Michelle Obama’s body frame. If it were thinner the feminine silhouette of the dress would have been maintained.

The designers

It can go with out saying that well hear much more from fashion veteran Isabel Toledo and new comer Jason Wu. However Wu’s spring 09 collection combines comfort and femininity in a way that projects confidence. I predict that he will be a force to be reckoned with.

Does and Dont of Mimosa

The Idiots guide to Mimosa, a reference to the rest of us.

With a new year come new goals and aspirations and new colors. The people at Pantone, in their some how unquestionable wisdom, have named Mimosa the color for the year 2009. You may be most familiar with this color as the proper shade of a perfect Sunday brunch cocktail.

In this case Pantone is referring to the yellow cluster of the tropical shrub known as Mimosa.

What does that mean to you?

In a nuts shell it mean you will see and be expected to wear a very bright shade of yellow in ' 09. The mass introduction of such a dominate color in the wardrobe of the general public can only lead to a drastic increase of fashion violation. A color like Mimosa needs to be used sparingly. The untrained shopper could quite easily fall victim to a color over dose or COD.

On ladies night.

One resent night out with the girls is decided to style the current look. It was fun and yet comfortable.

I am currently irritated by this Gap coat. It looks like Elmer Fudds bathrobe. Enough Said

I am currently in love with these gloves from J.crew. They add a bit of retro flare that i always support and can give a splash of color to what could an other wise boring outfit.

This month I am stuck on this look . Its comfortable yet stylish with out looking like I thought about it to long. But like all things I'm sure I will move on soon.

I am currently in love with these sequin leggings They can comfortably add glamor to your night on the town.

I am currently irritated by the Uggs slippers. I am sure they are warm, comfy and cozy but should never be warn out of the house ( much like that pajama pant craze from a few years back)

I know it has been some time since I have blogged but I am back
I believe i have ended my ridiculously extended blog Hyades with the perfect event.

A Sex and the City Movie and cocktails event.

What better why to pay homage to the most fashionable movie of our generation the to return to my styling ways.

So here it is!!
What Trish was wearing to the must see movie of the year.

It can often be a difficult task to style an outfit that can be stylish and relevant in the afternoon as well as the evening. Such was the task this Saturday. My 4:20 viewing of sex and the city would soon be followed but cocktail and a night of dancing.I, However, am always up for the task. I chose to wear a pinstripe denim trouser (from NY & Co) and a yellow cowl neck top. They were accessorized with a Jessica McClintock woven leather clutch and Via Spiga sandals. My jewelry selection were the silver guess Swarovski crystal watch, a silver rhinestone lock in key necklace ( a Tiffany replica) and large silver hoop earrings. This made for a fabulous evening look.

I wore a light jacket over the backless cowl neck during the daylight hours. This provided a stylish yet subdued appearance.

A well put together outfit can often be the icing on the cake of a wonderful outing. A fabulous movie, fierce outfit, delicious drinks and good company what more could one lady ask for.

The inspiration for this outfit was NYC style goddess Ange Harmon.

Runway to Reality

OK the close of New York's fashion week is not only the sign that there are five more weeks of winter but also that it time to start planing you spring wardrobe.

So you have watched all the fashion week coverage and you have flipped through all the fashion mags. But, somehow, planning your seasonal wardrobe is still a task. What you need to be able to do is turn you runway favorites in to real life looks. This springs style treads call for light flowing fabrics in neon colors.

Lucky, for you, you have me.

This look From Lanvin Paris, though gorgeous, wouldn't find itself in most of our regular rotations.

However, you can use it as inspiration, easy incorporating the theme in to your wardrobe with pieces like these.

This taffeta tangerine baby doll (available at J Crew) is a great way to use the Lanvin dress as inspiration. This green linen caftan dress (available at Victoria's Secret) not only provide the light flow of the Lanvin dress but is also available in a similar color.

Both these dress can be worn with these black ribbon lace up platform saddles (available at Victoria's Secret).

For that week day after work outing. An eggplant button down shirt and black slacks worn with short-sleeve belted denim jacket. I think it is always nice to drees down office attire with a well tail or denim jacket. Conversely it is just as nice to dress up jeans with a stylish blazer.

I added patent leather kitten heels and and a small patent leather purse which was kept in my work bag until after hours. I also Accessorized this outfit with gold V hoop earring, a purple pendent necklace (that i made) and my gold Guess gold crystal locket watch

It's an instant work to play outfit.

Success or not that's what Trish's wearing.

Black turtleneck mini dress over grey slim pants with brown riding boots and vintage Louis Vuitton speedy bag. I find that a slim pant tucked in to a boot give the look of thights with out that risque showiness that you may not want in all places.

It has been accessorized with gold hoop earrings, a double chain necklaces and a brass dimpled bracelet. My bracelet was actually my grandmothers (every thing old is new again). The necklace is actually two separate peices that I made. I also added the Guess gold crystal locket watch. It is one of my favorites.

Success or not that's what Trish's wearing.
